Robert,

I can only speak from my own experience and that is yes, .pdf files are increasing in popularity. Ai or eps are still the higher percentage received, but each month pdf’s are increasing. Most notable, on the receiving end, are some of the higher end deign and graphic firms. On the sending end, some of the print media I deal with are now requesting the format over eps. Like any format, strengths and weaknesses abound.

Again, it’s just another tool to learn about. About two weeks ago I had an involved conversation with someone that PRINTED to pdf instead of SAVING to .pdf. It can make a difference depending what you want to do!

Spend some time learning the ins and outs of Acrobat and the .pdf file structure itself. Looking at the support and acceptance of the format, it won’t be wasted time. As a side benefit, since you won’t have anything else to do during that time frame, you can instruct a seminar at Dreamweaver for rest of us. ;-)
